Real-time agent coaching platforms in 2026, and the seat minimum nobody puts on the website

Updated September 11, 2026 · By the Objeq team

Which platform coaches agents in real time? Five of them do, and they split by what your agents are plugged into. If your agents sit on a call center phone system (Five9, Genesys, NICE, Amazon Connect), the answer is Balto, Cresta or Observe.AI, all three quote-only, all three sold to large floors. Observe.AI is reported at a 100-seat minimum. If your agents take calls in a Chrome tab instead (Google Meet, Zoom or Teams from the browser, a browser dialer such as GoHighLevel), those three do not fit the plumbing and Objeq does: $99 to $149 per seat per month, published, no seat minimum, no platform fee. The rest of this page is the evidence for each line, with the source and the date next to it.

Two different products share one search term

"Real-time agent coaching" is contact center language. It was built for a floor of agents on a phone system, where the platform sits in the audio path, watches for a compliance step or a missed rebuttal, and puts a card on the agent's screen mid-call. That category is real, it works, and it is sold the way enterprise software is sold: a demo, a quote, an annual contract, a number of seats you have to reach before anyone returns the call.

The same words now get typed by a different person: a manager with six people who take calls in a browser tab. Same need, live help on a live call, completely different plumbing and completely different budget. The tools are not interchangeable, and the reason is not quality. It is where the audio lives.

Where a vendor does not publish a price we say so and link the third-party source, instead of printing a number as if it came from the vendor.

"Cresta Agent Assist proactively identifies knowledge moments and surfaces instant, source-backed answers based on live conversation and on-screen context so representatives stop searching mid-conversation."

Cresta, product page, cresta.com/agent-assist, checked 11 Sep 2026. Quoted because it is the clearest statement in this category of what live assist actually delivers: an answer, in the moment, instead of a search.

Three questions that decide the shortlist in ten minutes

1. Where does the audio live? If it arrives through a call center platform, you need a platform that integrates with it, and the four names above are the market. If it plays inside a Chrome tab, a telephony integration has nothing to attach to, and you need a browser copilot. Get this wrong and the rollout fails no matter how good the AI is.

2. How many seats do you have? This is the question that ends most searches. Enterprise assist platforms are priced as annual platform deals, and at least one of them is reported to require 100 agents before the conversation starts. A team of eight is not a small customer for that model, it is a non-customer.

3. What do you want said in the moment? Contact center assist is mostly about the next step: the compliance line, the checklist item, the article the agent is hunting for. A sales copilot is about the push-back: the customer said "it's too expensive" and the rep needs a treatment, not a link. Both are real-time. They are not the same job.

If your agents are service reps, read this before you buy

Two very different things are called coaching on a service floor. One is quality: was the script followed, was the disclosure read, was the ticket handled. That is what the contact center platforms are built for, and Objeq does not do it.

The other is the moment a service call turns into a sales call. The customer says they are cancelling, or that the renewal is too expensive, or that they need to think about it. That is an objection, and it is the only thing Objeq is built to handle. It hears the push-back, detects the fear behind it, and whispers a treatment to the rep while the call is still open. If your service reps save, renew or upsell, that half is the half worth buying. If they do not, buy the QA platform instead. We would rather say that here than after you pay.

Why a browser copilot is even possible now

The old reason agent assist was an enterprise product is that getting into a live audio stream meant getting into the telephony stack, and that is an integration project with a vendor, a security review and a quarter of calendar time. A call that plays in a Chrome tab removes the whole chain: the audio is already in the browser, and an extension with a side panel can hear it and answer next to it. Objeq's own setup is three steps and about 40 seconds, because there is nothing to plumb.

That is the entire reason the price can be $99 a seat with no minimum instead of a six-figure annual contract, and it is also the exact limit of it: no Chrome tab, no Objeq. An agent on a desktop softphone is not a customer we can serve, and Balto is the honest answer for that person.

FAQ

What is a real-time agent coaching platform?

Software that listens to a live call and puts guidance on the agent's screen while the customer is still on the line, instead of scoring the call after it ends. In the contact center market it usually means checklists, compliance prompts and knowledge answers. In the sales market it usually means a rebuttal to an objection.

What are the best platforms for real-time agent coaching?

For agents on a contact center phone system: Balto, Cresta and Observe.AI, all quote-only and sold as annual platform deals. For agents whose calls play in a Chrome tab, including Google Meet, Zoom or Teams from the browser and browser dialers such as GoHighLevel: Objeq, at $99 to $149 per seat per month with no seat minimum.

Is there a real-time coaching tool for a small team?

Objeq publishes its price, starts at one seat, and has no platform fee and no seat minimum. The enterprise assist platforms do not publish prices at all, and Observe.AI is reported by third parties to require 100 agent seats.

Can a service rep coaching tool work on sales objections too?

Not usually, and the reverse is also true. Quality platforms are built around whether the process was followed. Objeq is built around one moment, the push-back, and it answers that moment with a full treatment. Pick the one that matches what your calls actually turn on.

Does Objeq work with Five9, Genesys or NICE?

No. Objeq hears the customer through the Chrome tab the call plays in, so it needs the call to run in the browser. If your agents work in a desktop softphone on a CCaaS platform, Balto is the tool built for that.
