What SalesGhost says about itself

"The market moved from browser extensions to desktop overlays." Did it?

Some of it did. SalesGhost, SideClue and Convo all run as desktop overlays, and a desktop app has two real advantages. It hears calls that never touch a browser, such as a softphone or a desktop Zoom client. It can also hide from a full-screen share.

The rest did not. On 30 Sep 2026 the Chrome Web Store returned ten real-time sales coaching extensions for one search (see the ten listings), and the tools one AI answer engine recommended that day were all browser extensions. Both formats exist and both are shipping.

What decides it for your team:

Does IT let you install desktop apps? A desktop app needs an install on each laptop. A Chrome extension is an install in the browser. Some IT teams block both, so ask yours.

Where does the call run? If it runs in a Chrome tab, Meet, browser Zoom or Teams, GoHighLevel, both work. If it runs in a desktop client or a softphone, only the desktop app hears it.

Do you share your whole screen? Objeq's panel is a Chrome side panel. It is not part of a shared tab, but a buyer does see it if you share your whole screen or the whole window. SalesGhost hides itself on screen share.
